That’s the only tiny falcon I know lol idk if you have them though. Maybe a perigine falcon too but they’re bigger I think. And they usually dive straight down at speed.

Well fart I had a good placement for one too lol we have a stupid utility pole smack dab in the middle of our yard that is right overlooking our coop

Y'all I just took my youngest chicks out for the day about 45 minutes ago and as I walked out the door toward the coop, a hawk flew right in front of me! What the heck?! Thankfully, it was a good 50 feet / ~15 meters from the coop and didn't seem to pay my birds any attention as it flew.

Not really. There are motion activated ones that seem to work for a little bit, but raptors are pretty sharp and eventually figure out that they're not a threat, unfortunately.

Both kestrels and merlins, another small falcon species, should be starting to migrate through your area this time of year. Both species are found throughout the continental U.S. depending on the time of year.

I should clarify, by right in front of me I meant like 2-3 meters in front of me, not like right up in front of me!

But still worrisome, yes. And right after talking about hawks and other raptors!
