I wondered if you'd comment on that ! When I mentioned my order in the other thread I was going to get 4 bantams, but I changed my mind. I'm still wondering if only 2 bantams will be OK in a flock of 14 other LF birds or if I should nix the Wheaton OE for the OE bantams so there's 4 bantams instead of only 2.

Oh ya, definitely a big problem, you should get the 4 bantams for sureee. I've never tried it so I actually have no idea

Oh, good luck! That does sound intense, but such rewarding work!

A lot of people have given me looks for this because it's kind of an odd choice, but I'm actually wanting to get a degree in dental hygiene and work in a dental office.

As of right now, I want 2 Blue (BBS) Ameraucana, 2 Blue Sex-Link EE Bantams, 2 Wheaton Olive Eggers, and 2 Golden Cuckoo Marans (I've changed my mind on this several times, but I want some colored egg layers and I wanted a couple of bantams, and I'm trying to keep the order at 8 chicks). My new coop will be 10x12 with a 3x10 feed room (so 90 sq ft coop space and I have a flock of 8 rn).

There are a lot of factors to consider with that, particularly the temperaments of the other birds, but I've found that my bantams, even my tiny OEGBs, have done just fine in my mixed flock with large fowl hens of several different breeds. I think there's only been one large fowl hen that gave me issues with bantams, but she had a bad temperament with everyone. If they're all going to be raised together, they more than likely will do just fine together.

OK on a serious note, I've never tried it, so everything I say can literally be shut down by anyone who has, or has a different idea. I think it could work, they're probably going to be in the lower ranks, but not necessarily. 4 would be better, but probably not a necessity

It's kinda weird because I feel like with a lot of these chat threads, the person that starts them just quits after a while. I just noticed that on a lot of threads and think it's a bit strange
