Chat room for non religious poultry keepers! :D

Wheaten is likely to come through as dominant in that cross, but not guaranteed. It depends on what Gaga has at his e-locus, and what other genes he has that might change their pattern or coloring a little.

The first pullet, to me, looks like a melanized e+ or e^b. Basically, wildtype or partridge patterned with an additional gene or genes that make more black come through on her. She has too much of that grayish stippling in the wings and chest for E^R in my opinion. That's why I suspect that her chicks with Gaga would end up intermediate between those two in patterning, because I feel like it's likely Gaga is E^Wh, e^b, or e+, himself, and their chicks would be heterozygous for the melanizer(s) she has or not inherit them at all.

I would assume the last pullet is either E^Wh or e^b based on her traits, leaning toward E^Wh, yes.

Very interesting! Thanks a bunch!
