Chat Thread for the New Crazy 24 hour Auction

@GardenWren

i see in your current auction pictures, you have frizzle hens and roos, are they kept separated so that you do not get frizzleXfrizzle?

Yes, they're in two separate flocks. We have the frizzle roos over the main flock along with a couple others, they free range the biggest majority of the property, then we have another, smaller flock, that ranges the back fenced lot. The frizz hens are in that group. They are, however, kept together in the "grow out" coop/run till they're big enough to be moved to their respective flocks. The pictures listed show birds from both flocks, as well as some youngens still in the brooder room and coop. Right now our farm looks like a doggone swamp. When everything dries up I'm planning on getting pics of our set up. I've been trying to think of ways to simplify it a bit so I'm not moving birds around so much and plan on starting a thread for ideas/suggestions.

I'm interested in high quality Silkie eggs... Any color mix under the sun.

We currently have a few chicks (white, black, 2 partridge), 2 blue young adults not crowing or laying yet, 5 pet quality buff...

Would like a mix of a few more colors and would like them from high quality parents.

If anyone has some they are planning to list anytime soon... Im interested.

If mine would lay more than 1 egg a day, I would list some... will let you know when they pick up laying again... :)

Our weather has ours not laying hardly any right now. Half of my silkies are laying but I don't have many and it's their first time too. We're having winter/spring weather this winter.

Aww, you don't like our 70° one day, 40° the next, then pouring rain back to 70° and then snow flurries?? ;)

Poor birds don't know whether to molt, lay or brood, I swear... :/

I swear that some of my girls have molted twice this fall and winter.

Just when I thought they were done and started laying again, they started to molt again.

So glad I'm not alone thinking my girls were going crazy this winter (even here in Cali it's been such an odd one!) At one point, they were laying in full swing, so I picked up some more egg customers... now I have to send out "So sorry, no eggs this week" texts!

Just candled the eggs I got from GardenWren. Today is day 8. All 20 eggs are showing veining. There are some with saddle shaped air cells and a few with air cells that "move" but just on one end. Advice on the saddle shapes and wobbling air cells?
