Checking-In On Peeps - Post Here To Say Hello!

Reminds me... a buddy of mine was in the K9 unit in the local Sherriff's department and let me do a ride-a-long with him. It was mostly fun... but WOW his dog would bark at anything all-the-time!!!
🤣 maybe it was trained to.
Like a scared straight thing. Even if you weren't screwing up having one of those things crazy barking at you might make you think twice about getting off the straight and narrow.

Springer spaniel are gorgeous dogs. Are you planning to hunt with it? I've considered one, but the energy might be a bit too much for me at this point.
Yes, I'm hoping to pheasant hunt, do barn hunt trials and do obedience with it.... we will see which stick the best. All of it depends on if the pup enjoys it. I'm pretty excited and hopeful though it could be a couch potato too and I'd be just as happy haha

Hi,
I'm still raising some chickens but we were down to 2 hens and a rooster when I decided to buy some chicks to add to my broody chick that just had one of the eggs hatch. Then I had the brilliant idea to buy 4 more chicks that turned out to be a little older and the mother did not want to foster. Now I have two different flocks, again, a broody hen and it looks like 4 roosters! Anyways, I love chickens and I'm determined to have a flock some day, I just need to figure out the chicken drama!

Do springers come in couch potatoes? I'm sure it will love doing all those activities. I'm jealous most of the barn hunting. One breed I like, and have owned are rat terriers. They would enjoy doing that. How exciting.

Chickens are so addictive. I definitely understand. Congratulations on your new additions. I keep my chickens in two different sheds, and now extra roosters are with my turkeys until I figure it all out. Keeps my days exciting.

Integrating a flock can be a challenge!

Have you considered rehoming some roosters?

Hi there! I’ve been busy with my 14 hens and two roosters! I’m thinking of getting meat birds next…
Also took the plunge and now I have goats! 5 of them!
What meat birds are you considering? I've done Cornish cross but was changing to Bresse before I stopped raising them.

Hey chicken friends! I spent 8 months traveling around the USA in an RV with my family and now we're settled down in a new Idaho house. We're rebuilding our homestead and my chicks are now 3 months old! I have Bielefelders, Multipak Layers (a Cream Legbar cross), and a Plymouth Rock. Now that I have chickens again I'm sure I'll be spending more time on here again! :)
Happy to have you back! That sounds like a great mix
