Checking-In On Peeps - Post Here To Say Hello!

Yes! Been busy, moved, added four new hens, trying to build a house! Then the hawk attack, just when the hens were living life chasing crickets in the fields. Always something!! Thanks for the articles on the “guard goose”. Truly think this hawk may have been deterred by some loud geese this morning.
I think everything is hungry this time of year. Hopefully the hawk leaves your birds alone. Those crickets seem be be very delicious to chickens. I'll have to trust their opinion on them. I personally haven't tried them. :)

I'm here! Sorry, I just got this notification. We moved and due to health issues I decided to leave my girls with my daughter. Now we're starting over because even though I'm still having lousy health I miss having a flock. We built our new coop and I'm actually getting 4 hens tonight!View attachment 3957919
Your new coop is beautiful! Hopefully your health will improve when you get outside and enjoy your new girls....

We have such a vibrant community here at BYC... tons of active friendly members. Of course, life gets busy, so I was thinking it would be fun to start a thread welcoming some of our peeps we haven't heard from in a while.

If that's you, come say hello and let us know what you've been up to. :)

(if that's not you, feel free to invite peeps you haven't seen in a while and say hi to those that post here)

Thanks for checkin up on me. Yep been quite busy. Since I have been on last I acquired 4 peeps that belong to my grand daughter (in name only). One of them has since acquired what I believe is a bumble. She started limping this am. When I checked her foot, there was a small dark spot. I have done some research on the site here (very helpful thanks) since there are no local vets who care for chickens. I am hopeful that I caught this early and that her treatment will be short. LOVE this site. She is currently in the infirmary. Here she is post first "treatment" The black spot on her opposite foot is "debris". I have learned SO much on this site. I can't tell you what a confidence booster it is... :thumbsup
