This is my first time raising chicks and I have some questions. My JG is constantly cheeping....Parsley has clean food, clean brooder, clean water....everything. The heat lamp is working and the temperature is approximately 90F. Parsley's brooder-mate, Rosemary is a Barred Rock...now she doesn't cheep unless Parsley is out of the brooder. She just eats, scratches and stomps around.
Is it "normal" for a 1 week 2 day chick to cheep for no reason? Parsley just constantly cheeps! It doesn't sound like screaming kind of cheeps, just loud uniform cheeps.

My next question is sleeping. Do chicks sleep standing up? They use to squat down to sleep...but now they stand. Maybe it's time for a perch?

    Thanks for reading and answering.

    Maybe she's too hot?
