What an adorable little boy...the pics of him and the duckies are priceless...he radiates joy...my brother did not talk until he was almost four...not a peep from him...one day he just started talking in perfect English and perfect sentances...he waited until he could do it right...he went on to become an prosecuting attorney and a state legislator...he was brilliant...hang ten on that little fellow...there is a light shining in him...

Your grandson is adorable!!! I'm so happy to hear your story and even happier to share that my son was brought to us at age 9 mths, weighing only 11 lbs. He was a skeleton of a child and couldn't move anything but his big blue eyes. He didn't make sounds and had been left so neglected and malnutrioned that even the drs said he "may not live let alone ever DO anything". He is now almost 8 yrs old. He has faced medical and developmental challenges but he has become a bright, shining example of what a lot of love/caring and support can do. He loved music even before he could move and he has never hit milestones according to the "schedule". He didn't speak til he was almost 2 1/2 yrs and when he did speak it was as if he had talked for years. He currently is special needs classes (online homeschooled) and has OT and speech therapies weekly.

Don't give up on that boy....No one from the agency who placed him with us to the drs/specialists thought my son would ever be more than a bed ridden soul. He is a lively loving and charming young boy now! He is one of the loves of my life.

I love hearing all your stories too. What a inspiration you give me. I do think when he does talk he will be talking sentances because he understands everything. I am sure it will be soon. My daughter can't wait to here Mommy and I want to here Oma. He does give us name tags to wear. He know what name goes to each of us. Even spelling his name with alphabet magnets. SEBASTIAN. It is a long one to learn.
