Our large Cherry Tree is supplying a steady carpeting of white petals on our lawn at the moment. It not only looks beautiful, but the chickens are loving it and hoovering them up.

I'm just wondering if anyone has any ideas as to the nutrient/herbal/trace elements value of this boon please?

Obviously they also receive their usual feed (just started using fermented feed)

It seems amazing the wide range of things that chickens will eat. I don't know about the nutritional value of flower petals. When the dogwoods dropped their petals, the chickens ignored them. I didn't notice if they ate the petals that fell from the apple tree.

When I sweep out my shop, the chickens come by and clean up all the small wood chips and sawdust. I doubt this has any nutritional value, but they seem enthusiastic about eating it.
