Beautiful day today and the fence guys made nice progress. The fence is done and they'll be back Monday to build the gates. I think this is going to made an awesome area for the babies!! We also got the 4x4's set for the human door openings front and back of the run. Few more 4x4's to set and then I can knock out the run. Trying to decide if I want to cover the entire run or just part. One way or the other the end of this project is starting to come into view.

I'm super popular with the flock. Especially when I have a hand full of scratch.

Laverne and Shirley coming for a visit. Laverne was the first to come and hop on my knee. She's definitely the most adventurous and inquisitive of the bunch.

Thank you! We are enjoying the chickens very, very much. They are terribly spoiled already. We've had rain almost every day here as well. Makes it difficult to get anything done out doors. Hoping for a decent holiday weekend so I can get done with the run.

Gates were built today so the privacy fence portion of the chicken yard and run are complete. The guys did a masterful job with the fences and gates. I'm super happy with them!

South fence with double gates.







West fence that will form the end of the run and the angled gate connecting to the storage building.





Now if I can just get a couple of days of good weather over the long weekend I'll have the run complete!!!

Believe it or not, no. Just letting it weather to match the existing privacy fence.

I thought the gate supports were interesting also. Don't think I've ever seen gates built exactly like that.
