Chest Bumping LOL!!!

Well I was observing some videos on youtube, and I saw a few videos where some chicks(about a month old) are chest bonking!!!! ITs so funny!!!! But why???

Then I remember my old roo did this with my hens when he was little....

Mine do this all the time. Total entertainment. In fact I'm about to go watch Chick TV right now.

They are 'sporting', more appropriately called social orientation. What you are seeing is the beginnings of the pecking order establishment. A chick version of, "I'm tougher than you!"
It starts early and will continue through their entire life. To us it is fun - to them it is deadly serious. Don't take it lightly, as it is a key to their survival.
