It was beautiful here today. My flock enjoyed the fresh air.
Hey chickn Coconut injured Elvis. Poor thing it looks like she plucked at his new feather comeing out. her head was white then it turned red, I think she wanted a new color style. LOL

Oh my god. Thats horible. So sorry to hear that.
This week has been the worse week. Elvis is ok, She plucked out one feathers that had new blood lines.

We lost our Silver Phoenix Rooster this week too. Due to respitory cold.

Oh chickn, I am sorry to hear that. Do you think it could possibly be the URI that seems the chickens are getting from all the rainy damp weather??? I hope the rest of the birds ar OK.

Chickn how many did you loose?

i am not sure the cause, its chicks, to 4 weeks plus old
my faverolle hen had 8 babies when i left she has 3 or 4 today.
my milles that are older- 4 mo or so lost 2, 2 of my splash cochins that were @4m
3 silkie chicks my hen hatched before i left
2 more in the pen
2 chicks looked like they fell out of the pen when he opened the door and fell to the ground dead, i am sure that isnt what happened but that is where i found them.
felt like every cage had someone dead in there
no symptoms that i could see or here and i spend hours in there today.

2nd brooder lamp must have blown out, that was off. lovely. daughter had called me and asked why the brooder cage doors were open and chicks everywhere. and dog officer had to pick some of my birds up from a hotel up the street! was a lovely vacation. oh did i mention it rained all week long!

i had checked in and heard about your bird, thats a horrible loss for sure. tough to take.

Are the fireworks freeking out anyones chickens??? Mine are freeking out in their coop, I hope no one gets hurt. This freeking neighbor keeps lighting them off, i am gonna go over and choke him!
