omg, I got home from dinner...The Barred Rock and EE decided that they were supposed to roost and go to sleep on TOP of the chicken tractor (I picked them up and put them inside, together, instead of inside the bigger coop with the other birds, since it was already dark out, and I didn't want to start a commotion)....
The Polish-Maran HAD gone inside the coop, and gone to sleep (YAY).
But....the poor little Houdan was snuggled up inside the little box I'd left on top of the chicken tractor (the one I brought her home in). My son and I decided that if she was too scared to be with any of the other birds, we should keep her by herself. I put her in a dog carrier with wood chips and water, and put her in the garage for the night. She was so sweet. She looked up at me sleepily, and then zonked out! She's back out with the others now and doing fine.
I'm trying to come up with a plan for tonight. I guess I'll try to be outside at the normal "go into coop" time, and try to rustle everyone into the bigger coop....and decide about the Houdan when the time comes...
