My 1 month old chickens are about to die please help!!!

so I ran out of food and I was told to give them crushed boiled eggs ‘I think this mightbe the problem’ as I have no grit but I’m not sure so I gave them at night came in the morning to give them another ofit and found to chickens that won’t wake up and run for food and I thought it was because they wanted to sleep even if I pick them up the won’t walk as usual they will just fall down and sleep!

that was 7am it’s now 13 hours later and they were two but they are 3 now and they are shakey and have now strength and in the same place as the morning as they didn’t move what should I do??

they also have a full crop I can feel it and one of them pooped a white sticky thin poop like water and it wasn’t that much or normal
3/8 and I love all of them please help I don’t wanna lose any

They sure look very sick.

Do they have fresh water at all times available or do you just give water several times a day?
What heat source do you use and what temperature is there actually in your brooder?
What exactly did you feed them, do/did they have feed available at all times?

Please, clean the brooder thoroughly and let them have fresh bedding every few days.

Living on their own poopy bedding, they will pick and eat their own feaces which leads to digestive problems.

Without proper food available at all times they might have ingested the shavings leading to crop impaction.

Apart from the possible ingestion of the wood shavings leading to crop impaction, they need natural sunlight or as a substitute Vitamin D3 if kept only inside. Lack of VitaminD3 leads to a multitude of problems, some of them loss of appetite, muscle pain, dizziness and weak bones/legs.

So, what kind of poultry vitamin additive did you provide with their water?

Hopefully you can find an answer and they can survive! I am new to poultry myself not so much new but learning all the time. Maybe just re_ go over everything everyone is advising and many blessings too you!:)

Give your chicks some coconut oil. First, measure out a teaspoon each. Then divide each teaspoon into several pea-size pieces. Chill until solid. Then take each chick and put each pea-size piece into their beak until each has had one teaspoon of oil. Massage each crop until you feel the crop empty.

Please answer the questions @LaFleche has asked. We need this information to help you make these chicks well. Unless they've died overnight.

I just took them to the emergency vet that is not very specialised in birds but was the only one open they told me they had a sudden change of diet and the have crop ‘something that started with a C’ not sure what the word was but I think its like impacted or something they gave them IV fluids to all 8 chickens and an injection that supposed to help with moving stuff out of their body and I was given no further instructions except to go to a vet tomorrow morning or come back to them and I cannot pay that much already paid too much I was told the three that I took a photo of aren’t likely to make it and maybe I should let go and let nature do it’s thing but I’ve seen worst on YouTube that made it so please advise me as I think you might have more experience than the vet that was laughing because I was to concerned about chickens!!!

  • they do have access to fresh water unless the Fill it with wood shavings as soon as I see it I change it
  • I’m nit sure about what temperature the brooder is but I use a heat lamp that has no light and they didn’t seem took cold nor hot
  • I fed them watered chicken starter pallets untill yesterday I ran out and was advised to feed them crushed boiled eggs by someone in backyard chicken and no it’s bot available at all times as I don’t have the automatic diffuser yet
  • I clean the coop every two days in fact I just did yesterday
  • They are kept in the garage at all times cause I was scared of the cold weather
