I'm so sorry for your experience

We lost a chick with each of our first two batches. The first one lasted a week before dying and the second one didn't even make it through the night. Unfortunately, shipping can be hard on the babies even when it goes right.
Do you have a nearby Tractor Supply, feed store or in my area... Ace Hardware? Our TS stores just received their first shipment of chicks this past Wednesday. I would call and ask what day they usually get chicks in and if you can, be there first thing in the morning. Our store was sold out by 1pm.
I have seen some people try placing a small stuffed animal in the brooder with a single baby. It may be worth trying until you can get your chick some friends.
