Chick Can't Walk

I'm ganna add to this thread.....I have a 4 week old polish mix that seems to be growing at much slower rate then the others.  She today starting falling over to the right like she didn't have the strength on that side.  I separated her just incase it was something else.  I then went to run some errands and when I got back she can't hold her self up at all with either legs.....she kinda rolls over to the side and just lays there!  WHAT SHOULD I DO???

Did your chick make it? I'd suspect a vitamin deficiency first, I know Silkies with vaulted skulls are more prone to wry neck from a hard peck? Guess polish could be the same..

Yes she did!!! I separated her and feed her water with an eye dropper several times a day. She was pooping normal but her but her butt felt really warm and swollen so I washed it and soothed it with aloe vera. She got better each day and would walk around more and more. I would let her out to see the other chicks through the cage because she was crying from being alone. She is totally better now and is running around like a champ.

NOW ...as of yesterday....I noticed her sneezing and sounds like a stuffed up nose when she breaths. Do Chickens get colds?? thanks!

Yeah they can get colds, but was she vaccinated for Mereks? I'd give her some probiotics and vitamins for sure, but I know respiratory issues in chickens can be really really bad. .
it could be something as little as water in her nose..but maybe not..

They have to be vaccinated at a day old I think, I know it's super early and if you ordered from a hatchery would have had to ask for it and pay extra..some breeders do it, some dont..

There's another woman with a sneezing chick and she seems to think it's pollen. My chickens sneeze, but just randomly.

I don't think it would hurt to look into treating her with an antibiotic. .there are a few options, I try to avoid them but if it's the difference between healthy and sick I'll do it in a heartbeat.
I'm not sure on exact doses tho, it would depend on what you can get at your local feed store.

well today she passed away....she was lethargic all day and found her dead this evening.  :(

So sorry about your girl..I have a chick that's about 9 days old and she's had a leg issue since hatch...it corrected somewhat with treatment and now seems like she's went backwards 200%. She was only 1 of 2 tgat hatched from 18 eggs so I really really wanted her to make it but if she continues on the path she's on, I'm going to have to say good bye.
It's never easy and I was pulling for your girl :hugs
