I do something similar with my scratch. When they get a little older about 4-6 weeks, I take some of my big girls scratch and run it through my grain grinder on a course setting. I makes it about half the size it was to start with, and they love it. I only do that when I start letting them outside when the weather is nice.

Yogart and mash is what I do.

No milk but you still can do Yogart. You can also fix an egg and give her some of the yolk mashed up too. They love it.

I have found that with my pinenots...topnots, that the 3rd day is make it or break it. I am keeping my prayers for you!

The bacteria in the yoghurt break down the lactose...that's why it's okay for them.
As is cheese.

Pinenot , does pinenot mean something in regards to polish chickens?
Today is day 3 or 4. She's eating on her own, but I am feeding her too. I saw her panting earlier, and more active. I don't think the panting is a good sign.

Pinenot, my polish sleep standing up with their nose almost touching the floor. Is that normal? They all do it.

lol...yes, they will sleep standing up. They might be a bit hot. I find they don't need it as hot as some of the other chicks do. I always put in a 6-8 inch section of a feather boa for them to snuggle with too. You might want to try it.

and yes, Pinenot is what My children call their topnots. I just started calling all our polish pinenots...I have to be careful...I might call them that and someone not know what on earth I am talking about

My silkies slept like that for the first couple weeks - too funny to watch them standing up, and then the head starts to droop....farther.....down....down.....bonk, beak hits the floor.

Chick is still hanging in there, sometimes she looks like she is on her last leg, then she snaps out of it, and eats. I saw her drink. Her crop is full, soft.
She peeps with every breath. She does alot of panting(?). I'm thinking pneumonia. I ran to Petco, they didn't have any kind of bird medicine. But I did find Penicillin gel for fish to eat. I came home and gave her 5 drops. When I was a kid , they gave me penicillin for pneumonia. Today is day 4-5.
