chick closed eyes chirping constantly RIP

Karen, How's your girl this morning? I was hoping someone more experienced would check the thread....the clicking sound is odd and the darker beak. Is the skin around the face redder too? Sounds oxygen related, doesn't it?

Hoping all is well this morning, wishes of good things coming your way.....expecially this time of year.

My little Hedwig passed away overnight. She hung on for a long time. May her little soul rest in peace, and she will be waiting for me on the other side of Rainbow Bridge-Karen

I'm so sorry, Karen. I've been reading this thread, hoping to hear that she's doing better. Bless you for helping her as you did, and may she rest in peace.

Dang, I'm so sorry Karen.

Godspeed little Hedwig.

very sorry about the chick...sometimes you get one that is just not right, and nothing you do helps.

the constant chirping is an alarm that something is wrong. sometimes it's just that they are cold, or stressed. sometimes it's more serious.
(could be something that happened in the shell, or during hatching)

please describe the chick's droppings..and the others.

temperature: should be 95 degrees F. first week..then 5 degrees decrease each week.

make sure all vents are clear.

what sort of flooring do you have in the brooder?
could they be getting a draft?

good luck with the others.
