Back in 2016 (between March and June, I think) a lady posted her pictures of her chick coop and run that she built alongside of the chicken coop and run. The adjoining wire walls had small holes cut in them to allow the chicks to mingle with the adults chickens, but run back to the safety of their own coop if being picked on too much.

I thought I had saved her post, but can't seem to find it nor can I find it in a search. SO! If you happen to know the location of that post or have made something the same, I would love to see your design/layout! Thank you in advance.

I raised my last chicks in my coop brooder, with the MHP and I copied the panic door idea. This was my set up. I integrated at 4 weeks and it worked out way better than integrating when they are older. This is the only way I'll be raising and integrating chicks from now on.

I love the idea and when I had first read about it, I thought it was ingenious. Thank you for sharing your setup!

I put my last chicks outside at 2 weeks and opened up access after another ten days or so. It's been very low drama all around. The chicks mostly still stay in their own space but they are able to move amongst the older birds just fine when they choose. Even the mean hens ignore them.
