Chick died in pip

Pics
How do I keep clean without keeping opening and closing the little windows? I still have 2 with pip holes and I don’t want them to shrink wrap.

Thanks for the encouragement!

17 unsure eggs. 2 currently pipping. First hatch was 24 hours ago.

I just meant keeping the brooder clean, after you move the chicks from the incubator to the brooder.

Ah

And reminder.... when do I move them to brooder??

Once they're dry they're ready to move to the brooder. I usually try not to open my incubators when I have externally pipped chicks but since it has been 24 hours for some of them I would go ahead and move the dry chicks to the brooder. You haven't been experiencing any issues with low humidity, it's all been due to high humidity so I really wouldn't worry about popping it open quickly to move them and just leave the wet chicks. They will technically be ok for up to 72 hours while they're able to live off of the absorbed yolk sac but I never leave mine that long.

How’s this chick look? I can’t recall the exact hours it’s been pipped but it’s over 12.
I ask because it hasn’t really moved at all and I can see the membrane is against the chick and not close to the shell.

I'm just now seeing your question. How is everything going? There are 2 membranes in an egg, an internal and external membrane, that's the internal membrane that you're looking at. It's a little yellow but not so dark that I would worry about shrink wrapping.

Is this ok?? Just bloody umbilical cord??
Anything to do here?
