Everything I have read says chicks need to be on 20% protein feed. But it’s not that easy to find. I have found it online but I’m concerned it won’t get here by the time the chicks do. Would 18 or 19% feed be ok?

According to where?
Some chick feed is only 18-19%. As long as OP isn’t feeding chicks layer rations, a lower protein feed isn’t going to hurt them. I always like to go with higher protein, but the lower will suffice until op can get the higher if that is what he/she is looking to feed their flock.

I was asking where op is reading that they need 20%. If I was commenting on your statement (that I agree with) I would have quoted you. I've never seen a chick feed above 18% besides meat bird starter

I read it on chickens and more.com with multiple layer breeds. Idk how accurate their information is but I haven’t seen anything contradicting them either.

Yes.

Bloggers are full of information that's not correct.
I'm glad you came here to find correct information. 👍
