I had a little 3 weeker isolated in the same tub as the other chicks so they could all still see each other to avoid stress. She had a tiny cut on her foot from I think the metal feeder (the problem has since been alleviated). The other chicks were ruthless in their pecking the blood, so I tried some violet antiseptics like Blue Kote and Peck no More, which only made it worse. She was just about ready to be turned in the the other girls, she just had a little violet left on her foot to wear off. At any rate, last night she escaped her side of the tub and joined the others. This morning, I woke up to an almost chewed off toe. I attempted to bandage, which she promptly tore off. So I've washed it well in hot soapy water and applied neosporin. It really doesn't hurt her when I wash it, and she isn't limping at all. Any other suggestions? It's a pretty deep wound now, and I'm worried about infection. Her bedding is cleaned daily and I wash her foot 3x a day.
