Chick found upside down

Went out and found a two-month old chick stuck between a fence and wall upside down. No idea how long she was like that; it had been several hours since I was out. Her head was not stuck downwards, and it looks like other than cutting her toes a bit, there are no other injuries. She seems to be moving about just fine as well.

She chatted to me the whole time after I freed her and held her against me inside my coat for a bit. She also ran about with the other birds a little, but I decided to bring her inside in a small crate. She has eaten some mash and had a good drink of electrolyte water (I wasn't sure what to do but thought this would be okay.) and is still chatting with me. I know this can kill a bird; anything else I should do or look for?

Yes, well done. Dont keep her inside in the warmth /away from her siblings too long. If she is fine, it’s best to move her back to the coop.

So glad that you found her in time, and that she is doing alright. If she has any blood on her cuts on her toes, I would apply some Betadine, and get her back out with her buddies soon. Do you have a picture of her toe cuts?

Ah, I was returning to ask how long she ought to be in! She is cheeping most pathetically, even with me nearby.

I haven't photos of the toe cuts, because they stopped bleeding quickly! But I can probably find them and dab Betadine on them. Then it's fine to get her back with her friends? I considered bringing her best friend with her, but of course he is a gigantic butterball of an Orp cross. No room!

She has been back out with her buddies and was quite happy about it. She joined them in pecking at my boots and tugging at my hem.
