okay, so we have hens that we let hatch chicks out every now and then, and one hen hatched 3, but only saved one. Well the hen wasn't being a good mom, and was never with the chick, so it was getting picked on and I was worried about it being picked up by a hawk. So when the little 3 week old got up on the roosts, all the chickens were being mean to it and knocking it down so I took it inside. It was loud and scared overnight, and when i got up for school this morning it was still loud.

When i got home from school I took it outside to let it out for a while after holding it a bit. I set it down and it would not leave my side! it kept coming back and jumping in my lap trying to get under my arm. When i went to put her up she was peeping loudly as soon as she couldn't see me, and calmed down again when she could. Why would she get attached this quick? Not that I dont think its cute, just curious!

that's what they do, the follow the first thing they see, or in your case you rescued her from being bullied, and looked after her, congrads you've just become the mother hen ! :D . she will follow you and do what you do in a sense because they learn from imitation
