I meant bad as in the wound wasn't quite that bad. she's a good hen, her sister Sugar was a bit of a trouble maker, but Sweetie, the injured one, is a very docile bird. she's gotten bullied because of how docile she is before and even got a mild injury once requiring us to take her in for a couple days before. I'd almost say Sweetie got all the best traits, physically and behaviorally, from both the Orpington side of her heritage and the silkie side (plus she lays medium sized pink eggs). For the life of me I can't phantom why someone would try to reintroduce an obviously trouble making pullet back into a flock or situation where she is not wanted. Isn't that cruel?
the issue isn't Sweetie, it was either one of the roosters being way too horny and hard on the hens, her sister Sugar being a bit too aggressive, or both. we got rid of the rooster and Sugar as well as the hen our drake kept bullying (not trying to mate with, he didn't get raised with chickens, he just chased her and tried to pull feathers off her) and cut the flock down to 5 chickens (and 3 ducks). she's always got along quite well with the remaining birds.
