I've had quite a few hatch with that over the years, I just put a little Neosporin on it and let it dry up, after about a week it usually gets loose and falls off. I don't think I've actually lost any from that. I do keep them off wire, as it can catch on wire and be torn off causing bleeding.
Quote: If it's already dry, probably too late for topical ointment or liquids, though they won't hurt. Tylan won't work on the type of bacteria that infect the yolk sac, and using Baytril should only be done if you're pretty sure they will die if you don't. How clean are your hatchers and brooders?

They are clean, i clean the hatcher each week after each hatch, also the brooder, i clean them each week, i have another one with a bigger dried yolk, can i use baytril on him? He is still fine but don't think he will make it with all that yolk.If it's already dry, probably too late for topical ointment or liquids, though they won't hurt.
