Chick hatched with problem

Can anyone tell me what it means when a chicken hatches with a belly that looks like yolk but then later drys off and the yellow yolk stuff protrudes from the abdomen?? What causes it? The shell was really bloody inside too. Thanks!

More deteial and a pic would help but it sounds like he didnt absorbe his yolk all the way and his tummy didnt close up all the way , some times if you just keep them quite they will finish absorbeing and all and be ok , sometimes they dont make it. Usully only time will tell.

Just make sure that the others don't pick at it and watch him.

yes sometimes there tummy / yolk problems get better and they do fine , just be ready incase this dosnt happen , make shure the other chicks if there are any dont peck at his tummy and such.
