chick in egg for 16+ hours

My eggs are beginning to hatch. I have 2 live chick and 38 more to go. This is my first try hatching eggs.
One chick broke through at 2 am today. It is now 16 hours later and it has not gotten any farther out. You can see the chick trying to get out of its shell but it can't break through and I'm afraid it will die trying. Should I do anything to help it along? Thanks for help.

Sometimes it can take up to 24 hours for a chick to hatch. I would, however, check that your humidity is high enough so the membrane does not dry out. If it is, give it more time. Often the chicks will work at hatching then rest for several hours to get it's strength back. As long as you can see it's still breathing, I'd just wait a while longer.
