Chick in egg, hatching yet still attached

Ok. We usually just let our hens hatch out their own and enjoy the fluffy result. Teenager decided to bring one indoors to watch and help it along. It was already pipping its way out. Now it's out of the shell, but still attached at its rear to the inner egg shell. Is this normal? Or not?

I'd leave it. The chick really should be with it's mother because it might get too cold. The cord will dry and break off.
