Hi guys, one of my chicks keeps trying to poop but cannot.
Her butt is swollen and you can see she is trying.
she is 11 days old, and has access to fresh, clean water, and medicated chick starter.
I will attach some pictures down below.
Does anyone know how I can help her?

thanks

You'll find a number of threads on here for helping constipated chicks, like this one. Also, see @azygous's posts here. Your chick will need gentle washing of the rear (which can also encourage pooping) and optional application of a lubricant like coconut oil to keep the vent clear, and as the threads mention, it may help to administer coconut oil. I've found that offering probiotics (in water) can also help resolve pasty butt.

I noticed that there appear to be poop balls on the bottoms of your chick's feet...maybe you're already on top of it, but it's important to their health to keep their feet clean. More info here.

Hope your chick's feeling better soon!

1- Warm water soak. Got to get the poop unclogged first!
2- Get a q-tip and some coconut oil and use that on the vent. It can be used to get the poop off as well as lube up the vent to make the poop fall out easier/prevents poop from sticking to butt fluff.

3- Reintroduce your chick to the water source. Sometimes they get lazy or forget to drink & this can cause them to get backed up.
4- Feed her a tad bit of coconut oil. This will help the poop be more slippy.
