I think that is an omphalocele. Do you have any triple antibiotic ointment (Neosporin is fine) without pain relief? I'd slather some of that on it until it absorbs back into its body (hopefully!).
cleaned the chick up free of the cornmeal, cleaned the dried blood off it as well, its pooping well, still very active, it me know after i cleaned it up that it was a little cold, checked its temp, its around 98- 100 on the hot side of the box, about 87 on the cool side of the box, its eating and drinking well,
Tommarow gonna pick up some neosporin, non pain relief, some chick feed, and some grit.
Im shocked only 2 of my 16 eggs have hatched so far. I died after peeping, and this lucky one so far
hope I get more if not, im ditching this hovabator and getting something non styro.
Lil one made it through the night, it seems that sac is shrinking up, i keep putting neosporin on it when it looks to be drying out, so far so good thou!
The rest of my 16 eggs had 5 that made it to just before peep stage, then the rest were early deaths, im assuming the temp spike i had for a shortwhile did all them in
Anyone have luck using hovabator's? its a still air, its not a huge tall one.
