Chick just hatched, has hanging ball from belly, now is bleeding.

ill post the model here in a few , not near it atm, the chick is doing well, its pooping alot, drinking alot, seen it eat a few times, Got my fingers crossed!

I make chicken diapers with gauze and white medical tape for those hatched with this issue. They do very well, fluff and eat and drink.

Incubator, I had a styro and got rid of it. Now have 3 Brinsea running none stop, and love them! Stable temps, humidity low until lockdown when I add water. Great hatches for chickens, quail and ducks too. I even high hatch rates with call ducks which are finicky.

Unfortunantly baby chick passed a few mins ago, one last peep, and it was over, the bator i was using is a hovabator 1582
Someone one day it had a temp spike of about 104 at around day 18, had a chick peeping and died from it

First try, miricle i had one, hopefully Ill do better next time around!

I used incubator for first time about two months ago (a still air). Follow the directions, watched it closely to control temp and water, but only had 6 hatch out of about 22 and they didn't hatch until around the 25th - 26th day! Only one survived. One had the same thing happen. As the sac started drying up, it got weak and after about 36 hours, it died. The incubator said 99.5 degrees, but I did some research that said 99.5 is for forced air and 101.5 is for still air. I set 42 eggs and this time keep the temp around 101. They started hatching yesterday on the 21st day and so far there are 12 in my little box drying off and about 14 more that are breaking thru. Only ones has died so far and it was when it pecked the shell, it made a blood spot and died.

There was one I am curious about. I notice what looked like a small amount of foam coming from the small openings in the shell. It hatched by itself and seems healthy but I had to rinse it off with warm water because it was drying stiff (like egg whites do). Is this normal?

Sorry to hear about your little one : ( I ordered some jersey giants on eBay I made myself a home made incubator with a Styrofoam ice chest went to the dollar store and bought a light with a 24v kept the temputure ar 100 and I but a wet washcloth for humidity... So far 10 out of 12 chicks hatched today one of them has the same problem blood in the belly like if his insides are coming out... All the others are fine... First time incubating eggs and so far it was. Success!!! I hope my little one makes it

My little one is doing better I used a band aid and his belly closed yay he's in with the rest of his brother's & sister's looking like he's going to make it!
