Is there liquid? Where is it located exactly? Take something small and sharp and poke tiny hole in lump. If possible, squeeze out liquid if there is any. Cleanse with saline afterwards. Make sure the heat is not too close to chick, about three feet away. Is the chick in pain? I recommend using a shallow dish and placing lukewarm water inside of it. Place the chick in the dish and let sit for a few seconds. Also, use some careful vitamins or supplements for baby chicken pain relief and pour a little in chickens water. Be careful as chick is brand new. If with other chicks remove from the others and watch it. Is it on the chest?

Check to see if your chick has a pasty butt. Meaning there is dried poo left on the feathers. If so clean it immediately by soaking a paper towel in warm water and place it on the chick and clean thoroughly. Sadly, if it has been on there a while the poop can cause poison to spread through the chicken and possibly create what your chick is going through.
False. And that is not the problem this chick has.
