Do they have a side with no heat lamp so they can get away from the heat if they want to? My brooder setup only had half the crate heated, half not and the girls didn't really like the heat lamp after about the first week. I moved them outside at four weeks and now at six they are fat and happy. They just weren't much for heat from the start and they'd start panting.
