You can purchase reliable thermometers from a poultry equipment supplier. I have even heard of people using glass fish tank thermometers. But just make sure it comes from a good source. Get two of them so that there will be no mistakes on temps.

Regarding holes for oxygen are these big enough? One at the other side too.

Are you talking about that cut out at the bottom? If you have a fan running constantly inside the incubator, drawing the air around, I would say that it is sufficient air flow.

I think if you solve the temp issue, your next hatch will go well.

I hope i havent misunderstood you but its where the hole is and theres light coming from it. Thanks for your help and advice

Oh...that tiny little hole? That is way too tiny. If I were you, I would drill about 2 more on each side. Not enough oxygen is going to be able to get thru a hole that tiny.
