polish chick, not sure of sex, around 8-12 weeks old maybe? hens pecked at the wings and now he’s missing feathers and looks to be hurt. i don’t think there’s any other internal injuries or anything aside from there, but if anyone has any ideas or knowledge, please share.

i’ve given him some unflavored pedialyte which helped to perk the chick up, he’s been moving around and searching for food, but his one wing is open constantly. he’s been alert and looking around when there’s noise and he’s drank plenty of pedialyte, and i’ve put neosporin (no pain relief version) on the hurt areas.

anything else I can do or look out for? we intend to treat this chick so he can survive, but please let me know if that’s unreasonable.

Such wounds heal, but take time. Apply antibiotic ointment and keep the flies away from the chick. Good luck.

He’s holding his head down today and shivering slightly, it’s 70° where he’s being kept rn. Is this cause for concern?
