Pictures of Ice would be great for the White Pea page on the Database. I wonder, do you have any pictures showing features that help identify male vs. female? If I understand correctly, for example, one clue is the shape of the tail feathers? This seems to be a question people often have about White peas, so any pictures like this would be helpful.

I know two tricks for white peafowl sexing. I need to try to get a pic of him fanning but so far I've only seen him do it once. The other trick I saw when there was a white peahen next to him when I bought him was the tail coverts. On females the webbing of the feathers are all together while on the male the webbing is split like that of a regular train feather. I will have to try and get a picture of it. I'm hoping to be getting a White peahen in September. When I get a White hen I can try to reassure what I say. The tail feathers I can try to force him to fan.

I go by the neck ridge, that verticle ridge of overlapping feathers that runs up the side of the hens neck.

Opal white eye, maybe 2 weeks old. Its hard to get the real color of this guy.



India blue white eye hen, maybe 4 weeks old.



The greens maybe between 6 and 8 weeks old.

Great Pictures!
I haven't really felt up to taking a lot of pics this year, being out in the heat bothers me and makes it difficult to breathe. I will have to make up for that when the weather cools down a bit.

White yearling peacock

The webbing of the feather behind the wing how it's all lose and wispy like the adult train feathers. I don't have a picture of a White peahen. That's what someone told me is a way to identify a male and female white peafowl.

Thank you also, @Birdrain92 . Nice picture of Ice's wispy feathers. If you look at the White page on the Database, you'll see we have another great indicator, zaz's pictures of her White girl fanning....a picture of Ice fanning would be super helpful, if you catch him at it!!!
