chick pipped at the wrong side!!!!

i can see its beak pushing the shell and moving and often cries..since this morning..what can i do??

i was right..the head was at the pointy end and all the legs and body were facing the air cell now by God's grace i zipped the membrane and still let the nature do it work and she kicked the shell off from her..thanks everyone

I assist but I am fully aware that I might have to cull the chick later. I'll give it that 25% chance at a healthy life, though.

I would help him out at that point, try and carefully peel the membrane away with damp fingers so he can get out. It sounds like it has dried out and he needs more help.

I will never help a quail out again.
They usually have something wrong with them which is why they don't make it out themselves.

But...I just zoomed in on the picture and see the OP has already taken off the shell.
You either finish and hope its OK or walk away (don't do that again...the peeling of the shell)

Congrats! My first quail hatched a little over a week ago and I had to so an assist like this. That quail is now the biggest of the bunch. Good luck with yours!

Don't intervene, you could kill the chick... hatching can take hours, don't panic and wait for an expert to answer
