Well crossing my fingers this is a little cuckoo Maran chick. Would probably explain it’s more yellow beak as well.

The chick labelled MM2 looks male (comb) but is not barred. If he was barred (or cuckoo), there would be much more obvious white on him.Updated pictures :

See how much white there is? (Barred Rocks would have the white lined up in neat "bars," but cuckoo is the less-tidy version of the same basic color pattern.)
Black chicks can have a few bits of white here and there, like yours shows in some photos, and it molts out as they grow older.
