hey there I need some help please! My two week old silkie has one eye closed and she is making some head shaking movements that don’t look good.

She is in a box with a lamp in the corner and paper towels, we recently switched them over from shavings (last night). She eats and drinks fine!

No other chicks show anything. However I did lose three chicks within about 4 days last week. They were the three that I got with my silkie. I have since added 6 more chicks in all to keep her company.

Any suggestions??

Thank you!!!

Head shaking can be a sign of a respiratory infection, ear infection, or mites or lice infestation. I would look in the ear and inspect for lice/mites. Can you put some saline or lubrant eye drops into the eye? Is it watery or crusty? Is she lethargic or having any runny poops?
