my chick started to pip two days ago and has barley made any progress. The membrane of the egg is almost shrink wrapped around him ( or her). I tried to help him out by putting a little water on the membrane so it would be easier for it to break lose. The egg slipped from my hands and fell about 5 inches onto a table. I feel so bad! The egg in now cracked all around but he still can't free himself! What should I do? There is also a bit of dried yellow stuff on the edges of the shell. Is it yolk? I am feeling so bad about dropping her! Could that have broken anything? image.jpeg image.jpeg please help!

Break the rest of the shell off around the top and let him push out. He's clearly stuck in there and can't get out on his own. If he started zipping, got stuck, and has been stuck for two days, then he should be entirely ready to come out. But as always, if you see blood, stop. I very much doubt you will, though.

I was able to get the shell and most of the dryer membrane off but his wing is stuck to the side of his face and won't come off. I am nervous to try to unstick it because it is stuck over his eye. If I pull it off I am afraid I might pull out his eye! I tried to apply a warm washcloth to his wing but it didn't work too well. He downside to trying to wash it away is now he is damp and shivering. What should I do now?
