Baby chick is doing good, she is finallly eating and standing. Obviously she is feeling good. Now she is lonely and will not be quite. She is louder than when we had four in here. I guess they had each other.

So I really wanted the hen to raise her chicks, but since we messed that up and this one had a rough start. We couldn't figure out how to get her to accept the chick. Maybe I needed more details on how exactly to do that. When we took the chick out there after dark. Our brooder is so big we could barely reach her and she got suspicous. Then when we finally put the chick in there she pecked at it again. So we brought it back in

So can I just couldn't I just take the hen and put her back in regular pen. Then take this chick and put in brooder with other chick and let them live together. Just like if we had bought them from the feed store. I hate to take her away from her baby but this one is lonely, & loud, and I may not come home from the Dr. tomorrow if he induces. So nobody will be here with little lonely chick for a couple of days.

Did it just peck the chick once? She may have been pecking at you and got the chick instead.

I'd try again - when it's completely dark, go out and lift her up and put the chick under her. Then see what happens.

I have my

it goes well since you'll be busy having a human chick.
