Hey y'all...
Seems like forever since I posted. Just wanted to thank everyone for all of the great advice you gave me directly when I asked questions, as well as indirectly through reading others' questions. The chicks I got in late October have survived my newbie chicken-mom fumblings & started producing eggs for the first time on March 5th...the day before my birthday!!
The ISA's seem to be maturing faster & producing earlier than the Black Australorps but I harvested 7 eggs from the 13 of my girls this morning.
Even better, I'm only 3 weeks into this egg production thing and I already have my first double-yolker!! I was SO excited that i was dancing around the coop & I'm pretty sure my girls all thought I'd finally flipped my lid!!
That's a store-bought grade A Large white egg next it!
And there's my double yolk. I'm such a proud Mom!!! LOL.
