Broody Jail has been the answer for me ... I don't have any Roos so there is no reason for setting. I then decided to try breeds that don't go broody ... Whitings so far has been a blessing but then they're only going on into their 3rd month of laying & our weather is starting to "warm"

Well, if they are under a broody they will not need water all night long as they dont eat and drink in the dark.
Just give the water in the morning.

Thank you for all of your replies. So helpful. First off the temp is better!! It was about 35 here today!!! total heat wave but still freezing up at night. I put some lamps out there and everyone seems to be doing well. Open water and all eating and drinking. The chicks have been out and exploring more with the lamps. I know temps are supposed to go back downhill for us so I’m glad I have the lamps. This forum is fantastic! Thanks again
