Chick wheezing when breathing -- something stuck in throat?

Hi everyone,
I have a chick who is making a wheeze/squeak when breathing. It's been about two days of this. She's about 4 weeks old, healthy weight. No runny eyes or nose, no liquids coming from her beak, she is eating and drinking and running around. She's open mouth breathing, but it's very hot (35°C -- brooder is in the shade and they all have access to fresh cool water). I have 13 other chicks who are not exhibiting any symptoms.

I checked the list of common diseases in the sticky thread and nothing quite matches. I'm wondering if she has something stuck in her throat/esophagus? I opened her mouth and couldn't see anything. Any opinions are appreciated! Short video attached.

I see you didn't get an answer, and I posted a similar question. Mine is a little more high pitched and less raspy, like a little tea kettle. Did it resolve on its own with your chick or did you find something that helped?
Hi, sorry for not replying sooner, I don't check BYC all the time. I didn't find anything but as my chick has gotten older he has crossbeak. I'm not sure if that's what's causing the wheezing but he's fine otherwise 🤷‍♀️ sorry I can't be more help!

I've wondered if there was a correlation between crossbeak and wheezing. This is the second thread now where I've seen where a crossbeak chicken wheeze. My guinea hen, Tookie, had an overbite-beak and would get wheezy when it grew out long. Sorry I can't help either!

No worries - after a couple of days of giving mine Nutridrench in the water and feed mixed with coconut oil, it completely resolved.

I truly think it's the crossbeak causing the wheezing in Wheezy (very uniquely named 😂), perhaps the airway is twisted internally somewhere because of it? Just a thought I've had while watching him grow!

Yes, that seems very probable. Did you say wheezy still wheezed when older or did the wheezing stop? Wheezy is a funny name! :p
