Chick wheezing when breathing -- something stuck in throat?

Yes, that seems very probable. Did you say wheezy still wheezed when older or did the wheezing stop? Wheezy is a funny name!

Wheezy still wheeze but other than that + the crossbeak there's nothing outwardly wrong with him, so we'll see if he stays healthy(ish haha)

I see you didn't get an answer, and I posted a similar question. Mine is a little more high pitched and less raspy, like a little tea kettle. Did it resolve on its own with your chick or did you find something that helped?

This is what worked for me: I fed her some mash mixed with coconut oil a couple of times a day. I just kept her separate while she was eating so the others would let her eat in peace. Took a few days, but the whistling went away. No idea if it would have resolved anyway. Also, I have no idea if this is related, but she developed a cross beak. She can still eat, though - they get wet mash in the mornings and dry chick start/grower crumbles throughout the day, and also fruit & veggie scraps and they free range. I've watched her - she can use the nipple waterer with no problem, eat any of the food, grab things like grapes and eat them, and take bits off plants while out and about.

thanks Ill try the coconut oil in some mash. I did give them VetRx and that seemed to help some. I threw away the food in their bin, just in case it was bad.
