Chick with broken, inverted leg — beyond spraddle that can be corrected.

[A Few Good Hens]

Three days old, and one leg is broken and

totally inverted. I read up on giving her a hobble, thinking it was spraddle, but I wouldn’t know which way to turn it to set it straight — it’s completely backwards! She is hobbling around using her wing, eating and seemingly thriving otherwise. Would love any advice.

Did she hatch like that?
Likely it's a leg deformity.
A vet would be your best bet in finding out if the leg can be corrected.

Thank you. We didn't see chic until day 3, and there seems to be trauma at the joint, so it appears to have happened after hatching. (Chick e was a surprise -- found with a broody hen who'd been hiding). Will see if I can find anyone to look. Thanks again for reply
