Hey yall!
I received a package of day old chicks in the mail today. This will be my second time raising a flock from this age.
I'm asking for opinion on what you think is wrong with one of the chicks legs. My initial thought was straddle leg but when I really inspected the leg, I noticed the one leg was significantly larger than the other. It was also pretty red too so it makes me think it's broken. There is a picture of the chick on its side that looks like where the initial injury occurred. Is it possible that the foot would get swollen with splayed leg?
At the moment we secured both legs with a makeshift brace, but if it's a broken foot we rather it not be in prolonged pain.
