Hi,
This silkie chick is 6 days old. She is on Nutrena chick food and water with brags apple cider vinegar in very clean living conditions.
What is this and how do I help her? Any suggestions are much appreciated! Poor girl ☹️. Photos attached

She is also on chick grit

Chicks don't need grit unless you are feeding them something besides chick feed.

Do nothing until tomorrow morning.
Tomorrow morning report back as to if her crop emptied or not.

Take away the grit and only offer chick feed.

No change this morning, still very swollen and puffy
How is your brooder setup - do you use a light 24/7 or are they in dark at night under a heat plate/pad?

Is she drinking/eating/active? Pooping? What's the poop like?
I would offer the chicks a little wet feed and make sure she's drinking well. For her, you can give some small chunks of coconut oil. It won't hurt if the others eat a little either, just make for a bit of loose stool, no biggy.

She is eating and drinking- active. I have a “Hatching Time” brooder- it’s heated with plenty of space for her to move towards or away from heat. I mill their food. But I will try some wet food. Definitely will do coconut oil. Thanks for the advice. I hope she will be ok. She’s a week old tomorrow 🐣
