So I posted not too long ago about taking in a baby chick with a foot issue. She was curling her toes under so I put her in a little boot to straighten out her toes. Her toes straightened and she was attempting to walk on it, but now she’s back to curling her toes. She can only walk by hopping on one foot and holds other out behind her with her toes either splayed or curled.

im giving her B12 supplements and even put her back in a boot but she won’t try to walk on that foot anymore. Not sure what to do.

I examined her leg as well and it doesn’t appear to be broken or injured. My guess is that she just doesn’t have strength in it.

It may have splayed leg . I would rap a bandaid around both legs so they are next to each other and standing. That may help :)
I’ve heard of that working and I appreciate you responding. I tried wrapping her legs at different widths but she was unable to walk and when she fell she couldn’t get up! I’m kind of stuck at this point!

She’s alright! She still manages to hop around and eat/drink. She also loves being held but definitely has a hard time walking. Still holds her leg out directly behind her : ( I’m stressing about her quality of life with a wonky leg
That’s very strange . How is the bird doing?

She may have a underdeveloped muscle , that’s what I think it could be. I would see what she thinks of water therapy. If she doesn’t like it just let her grow up and then reassess. :)
